Looking for a change of ride? Well look no further than Benny Boyd Auto of Lampasas, TX where you can find the ultimate thrill seeker vehicle, the 2018 RAM 1500. The RAM 1500 will take you off the beaten path in style with an efficient/powerful EcoDiesel engine, many models to choose from, and a very comfortable ride. Ram updates its 1500 model with a new range-topping and luxurious Limited Tungsten edition, a Sport appearance upgrade, available leather interior on the Rebel model, and an 8.4-inch multimedia interface that features 4G LTE, HD Radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, pinch and zoom functions, and improved resolution. Also new is Sirius Guardian with SOS Call, Roadside Assistance, Remote Services, Send and Go, and Vehicle Finder. A standard rearview camera, an LED bed light switch now located in the bed, and a Fleet Telematics Module for vehicle tracking are additional new features. The 1500 is Ram’s entry-level pickup truck, positioned below the larger and more expensive 2500 and 3500 series trucks. The Ram 1500’s base engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 305 hp and 269 lb-ft and delivers an EPA-rated 17/25 mpg city/highway with rear-wheel drive and 16/23 mpg when equipped with four-wheel drive. The torquey and efficient 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 pumps out 240 hp and a healthy 420 lb-ft of torque and is rated at 20/27 mpg with rear-wheel drive and 19/27 mpg with four-wheel drive. The top 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 churns out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque and comes rated at 15/22 mpg with rear-wheel drive and 15/21 mpg with four-wheel drive (13/19 mpg with the six-speed automatic). Besides the sole six-speed automatic, all engines come standard with an eight-speed automatic. The 2018 Ram 1500 is available in a regular cab with an 8-foot or 6-foot-4-inch bed, a quad cab with a 6-foot-4-inch bed, or a crew cab with a 5-foot-7-inch bed or a 6-foot-4-inch bed. The Ram 1500 can tow up to 10,620 pounds when properly equipped. All 2018 Ram 1500 models (crew, quad, regular, 2WD, 4WD) received a four-star overall NHTSA rating (out of a possible five stars). In IIHS testing, the Ram 1500 received the second lowest score for the small overlap front and roof strength crash test evaluations but received the highest score of Good in the moderate overlap front and head restraints and seats evaluations. The front crash prevention evaluation was not conducted because the Ram 1500 does not offer a collision warning or emergency automatic braking system. Safety features include the standard rearview camera system and available front and rear parking sensors.
